Beyond the Barre (BTB) is a pre-professional youth ballet company under the direction of Laurie LaCour. We are based out of Trilogy Dance Center, in San Antonio.
The mission of BTB is to provide a pre-professional training program in both classical and contemporary ballet. BTB aims to foster the traditions of classical ballet, while nurturing the creativity and confidence of the young artist. This is a unique opportunity for students to learn what it is like to be a part of a ballet company. As a member of BTB, students will build upon their ballet and pointe technique while being given opportunities to perform and grow artistically.
We offer opportunities to travel across Texas and experience top ballet competitions such as Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP), ADC/IBC and Universal Ballet Competition (UBC) as well as offering local convention and competition network experiences.
Our hopes are to develop the next generation of ballet dancers while nurturing a healthy body image and ensuring dancer wellness. We strive to place dancers in a positive environment while instilling the discipline and professionalism to succeed in any career and/or college path, related to dance and beyond.
