Trilogy’s Preschool Academy Your little one’s first dance class should feel like the start of something special.
Little ones already know how to dance. They bounce the second the music starts. Our job is to take that joy and give it a home: a room where your child is known by name, a teacher who notices when they’re brave, and a plan that turns wiggles into real dance, one class at a time. Classes for ages 18 months to 6 at Trilogy Dance Center in San Antonio and Trilogy Hill Country in Bulverde. Kindergartners and first graders belong here too. Our classes for 5 and 6 year olds are built for exactly where they are.

Here’s what makes Trilogy’s Preschool Academy different
You're not just picking a class. You're picking the people who will help shape how your child feels about dance, and about themselves, for years to come. We take that seriously, and it shows in how our Preschool Academy is built.
Jolene Christensen leads our Primary Program. That means every class for our littlest ones has someone planning it, watching it, and paying attention to how each child is growing.
Every class is built on purpose. First, we help little ones fall in love with dance. Then, step by step, we give them the foundations they’ll carry for years. The fun is how they learn. The skill is what they leave with.
Before anyone teaches at Trilogy, they complete our teacher training course. So no matter which class your little one is in, they’re getting the same thoughtful plan.
Dancers can start in Wee & Me at 18 months with a grown-up right beside them. Then they move into Tippy Toe Tots, where the big goal is walking into class all on their own. From there, the classes keep growing with them.
Some of our dancers will become professional dancers. All of them will become professional humans. That starts here, in a room full of tiny shoes.
WEE & ME (18 Months-2 Years)
Your toddler’s very first dance class, with you right beside them. Together you’ll clap, march, and move to music while your little one builds rhythm, balance, and coordination. You’re there as their safe place, and little by little, we help them get brave enough to try things on their own. It’s the first step toward Tippy Toe Tots.
Tippy Toe Tots (TTT)
(2-3 years)
This is the big moment: your little one walks into class on their own. Through music, games, and simple dance steps, Tippy Toe Tots learn to listen, take turns, follow along, and feel proud of what they can do. Our goal is simple. By the end of the year, your child walks through that door with confidence, ready for what comes next.
DANCE BASICS (ages 3 to 5)
Their first class with real dance steps. Dance Basics gives little ones a taste of ballet, tap, and jazz through music, games, and lots of movement. They learn their first positions, how to listen for the beat, and how good it feels to get something right. It’s where a love of dance starts to take root.
INTRO 1 (ages 5 to 6)
Built for kindergartners and first graders who are ready for a little more. Intro 1 builds on the basics with stronger ballet, tap, and jazz skills, longer combinations, and more focus in class.
Dancers start to see their own progress, and that confidence follows them home, to school, and everywhere else.
INTRO 2 (ages 6 to 7)
By now, you can see it: the confidence your dancer has been building is really starting to show. Intro 2 meets that confidence with a little more challenge, and dancers can choose the combination that fits them best: Ballet & Jazz or Tap & Hip Hop or both! Either way, the curriculum steps up with harder combinations that ask dancers to remember more, move with more control, and trust what they’ve learned. We also begin talking about performance quality, like how to hold their head up, use their face, and really connect with an audience, so they walk onto that stage proud of every step. It’s the bridge from little dancer to big kid, and it gets them ready for our Kids & Teens program.
HIP KIDS (ages 5 to 6)
For the little ones who can’t stop moving. Hip Kids gives dancers a place to bounce, groove, and show off a little personality while learning real hip hop steps, rhythm, and how to move with the music. It’s high energy and full of joy, and it teaches them that their own way of moving is worth celebrating.

What to expect at your first class
Walking into somewhere new is a big deal, for little ones and for parents too. Here's everything you need to know before your first class, so the only thing left to do is show up and have fun.
Dancers may wear whatever they can comfortably move in for trial classes, with socks/sneakers if they don't have dance shoes yet. Hair can be pulled back into a pony tail. Should the dancer choose to enroll in classes after their trial week, our front desk can go over their specific class dress code with you.
Yes. Our observation windows let you peek in on class periodically, so you can see your little one in action without distracting them.
Yes. Every dancer gets the opportunity to sign up for two shows a year, a chance to step
on stage and show everyone what they’ve learned.
That's completely normal, and our teachers see it all the time. With our youngest dancers, we'll usually invite you to sit quietly inside the studio. Your little one can see you're there, while our teacher gently builds trust with them, one class at a time, until they're ready to dance on their own.
We never push a crying child. If today isn't the day, that's okay. We'll give them time and try again next week, and the week after that, until they're ready. The first few weeks are about feeling safe. The dancing comes next.
